About The Long Live Connor Dunn Memorial Fund
The Long Live Connor Dunn Memorial Fund (LLCD) was created to honour the lasting legacy of Connor Leonard Dunn—a vibrant, compassionate, and generous young soul whose life, though tragically cut short at age 15, left a profound and enduring impact on everyone who knew him. Whether on the ice, the pitch, in the classroom, or any space he entered, Connor brought joy, music, and light, inspiring those around him with his kindness and energy.
This memorial fund is dedicated to supporting the dreams and development of young athletes in Connor’s community, reflecting his passion for sport and unwavering belief in inclusion.
In partnership with Sault College, the fund will award scholarships to student-athletes on the men’s and women’s varsity hockey teams. These scholarships will be given to players who demonstrate leadership, compassion, sportsmanship, and team spirit—values Connor embodied every day. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to kindness, inclusion, and community, helping young athletes pursue post-secondary education while honouring Connor’s inspiring legacy.
The fund also supports access to organized soccer for local youth through a partnership with KidSport Sault Ste. Marie. Donations made through LLCD.ca will assist families facing financial barriers, with funds allocated to players participating in Sault Youth Soccer Club and Northern Heights Sports Club programs. In addition, SYSC has committed to match all donations up to $50,000, expanding the fund’s ability to help cover registration fees, equipment costs, and travel expenses for SYSC players. This ensures more youth have the opportunity to play—reflecting Connor’s lifelong commitment to inclusion and lifting others up.
True to Connor’s spirit, the fund is grounded in the values he lived by: Kindness, inclusion, joy, and community. Through these efforts, Connor’s light can continue to shine—fueling the dreams of young athletes for generations to come.
